Hii I’m Satyam Mistry in this article I want to talk about the five skills. if you are in college and it will give you a huge advantage. when you’re getting out in the real world whatever. it is what you choose to do in you know whatever you can do content writing. you can do blog editing you can do software development. you can do pm in whatever role .you get in but having these basic skills is going to give you.

1. Skill of Communication

I have learned from their experiences as well as from my own first time. When I entered college. the first thing that happened was a get-together between seniors and juniors. Whenever the seniors used to come they used to talk about it.

What to expect in college and one thing. I realized that they are not very good at communicating. themselves like if you have to give a five-minute talk in front of 30, 40, or 100 people. they were just not able to communicate themselves.

They would feel shy they would stutter. And they would not be that great at communicating themselves. This is the first and the most essential skill you should be mastering.

That is the skill to communicate yourself as much as possible both in front of an interviewer or in front of a 50 or 100-people crowd in front of you. and you trying to communicate yourself. to the best of your capacity.

I understand a lot of you might be thinking that. it’s just too hard for you to learn to communicate properly in English or Hindi or any other language the only way to get better is through practice the more you practice the better.

you will get every single day to try to record yourself in front of the mirror. using a phone or something just talk about. what happened in your day-to-day activity? you can just be like hey. I learned about XYZ things I righted XYZ movie and this is what I learned from this particular day. itself you don’t have to be the best.

But you just have to be starting in your journey of practicing. how to speak practicing forming a sentence practicing. And to create a story in front of the audience. that will make all the difference the first skill to master is to communicate. yourself well and learn the art of public speaking.

You can read at on of books on it but it will not help you. if you don’t practice if you don’t go out there. and if you don’t start the process of getting better at speaking. that’s the first skill the future belongs to those who invest in their learnings and upscale themselves.

2. Skill of Negotiatev with People

Negotiation skills are qualities that allow a dialogue between two or more people with conflicts to be resolved.

The second skill is really interesting. These days I’ve realized that most people around me. They don’t negotiate much. I remember my parents my father when they used to go to grocery shops or wherever it was would always be like, give me this price.

He used to be great at negotiating. He used to be great at understanding. the intrinsic value of something and then trying to negotiate. that is in this generation at least around my circle. we don’t think much about negotiating whatever. The price someone says we like to guess but I feel like negotiating.

This is a really interesting skill I was listening to Chris Wass’s podcast. He was talking about how to negotiate better. He is someone that has also released a book called never split the Difference. You can learn from that book if you want to do good negotiating.

but negotiating is not just about you know trying to get something for a lower price. it’s more about maybe you’re talking with your interviewer. maybe you’re talking with your HR. You’re trying to get better pay for yourself for having that skill.

To put out a logical statement and ask for something more ask for a lower price. And asking for more opportunities try to be as much humble. but at the same time trying to persuade. the person in front of you. That is the skill of negotiating.

If you can learn this skill of negotiating and persuasion this will give you a huge advantage. the common thing in all the people that have changed this world around us.

how good they were at persuading the masses. how good they were at negotiating stuff from everyone out there it’s great. If you want to negotiate a better price from your freelance client. if you want to get better pay from your company.

If you want to get funding for your company whatever it is that you want to do have the ability to negotiate. and persuading the person in front of you will be important.

3. Programming

The third skill is Programming learned in 2022 or 2050 years.

The third skill that I feel everyone should learn in 2022 has to be programming. I feel like everyone should at least try their best to learn. This skill now I’m not saying that you need to become a software developer that’s definitely not what I’m saying but just having a basic understanding of programming is advantageous it will teach you a lot about how the world around us works you know how WhatsApp works for example how apps like Instagram, tomato.

how do these applications work how does google maps work so learning about these systems will teach you a lot about how modern technology works and that’s helpful if you are trying to get into you know maybe into a software development role or if you’re just, in general, trying to understand how product development happens in the latest startups out there so learn about this one field it will give you the massive opportunity and leverage at the same time now if you do intend to become a software developer which is, by the way, one of the most lucrative fields out there you can start preparing for the coding interviews as well but having a basic understanding of how the world around you works is important.

4. Understand Basic Social media

I think everyone should learn is being able to understand basic social media. you know in this world I see a lot of people on Twitter having like 5,000 to 10,000 followers. which is not crazy but they end up getting a ton of opportunities for themselves.

It is a freelance content writer, freelance blog editor be it software developer whatever field. you want to get in if you can just start creating a great profile of yourself on LinkedIn as well as Twitter. you will have a ton of opportunities. you will have leverage at the same time as well as the difference between someone.

Who has zero followers on Twitter and someone who has 10,000 followers right now? it is the ability to get a ton more opportunities for themselves. For the biggest companies out there this is important now. I’m not telling you to become a content creator per se but just having a social presence will give you a huge advantage.

When you’re getting into any career purse so this is going to be my fourth skill to learn. how do you know to grow yourself on Twitter and Linkedin to a point at which you can start to get a ton of opportunities? from startups as well as from established MNCs and this has happened to a lot of people.

It has happened to me as well I have gotten tons of leads from LinkedIn as well as Twitter or people just reaching out to me saying hey. I saw your post I saw your tweet I saw you on Spaces and I would like to learn more about it. how your agency works or I would like to learn more about how you can help us with our social media campaigns. whatever it might be you will be able to get much better opportunities. if you are available on social.

5. Selling Ability

This is true of people Selling ability.

This is not just true for people who want to you know become like a businessman. it’s also true for you if you want to get a job in some company. if you have been able to pitch yourself. if you can point out your key.

You know characteristics that will help this company grow. how can you sell yourself to someone? who’s looking out for a role you know Best Word of wall street. maybe they say to sell me this pen right the basic idea is that you should be able to create that importance and that requirement for that particular object in the mind of the person.

Who’s trying to buy it creates that need and then satisfies that need at the same time so as long as you can do. that you will be great at selling yourself. That’s what I would say these were the five skills that you should be learning. If you are in college and it will give you a huge advantage. when you’re getting out in the real world whatever.

It is what you choose to do in you know whatever you can do content writing. you can do blog editing you can do software development. you can do pm in whatever role .you get in but having these basic skills is going to give you.
